My first interview

Interviewee: Catherine Crain 
A) Twenty questions to ask
1- How does it feel to be the student of the month? Surprised and happy
2- Did it take a lot of effort to receive student of the month? Yes
3- What did you do to receive the award? I kept up with my grades and did extra credit. 
4- What can other students do to try and receive this award? Keep up with your grades if you are involved with sports.
5- What type of grades do you get?A's
6- What activities are you involved with in school?Dance, Photojournalism,Art
7- What outside activities are you involved with?Dance
8- How were you told you had received student of the month?A teacher pulled me out of the classroom.
9- What types of students usually receive this award? Students that keep up with their grades and do their homework.
10- How many times are students able to receive the award?As many times as they can get it. 
11- Were you congratulated when you received the award? Why or Why not?No, because it's not a big deal.
12- Have any of your friends ever received the award? No
13- How long has student of the month been around?For two years
14- Were you excited when receiving student of the month?and why? Yes because it took a long time to keep up with my grades. 
15- How did students treat you once finding out you had won the award? They treated me the same.
16- Is student of the month considered a large achievement at your school?And Why? Kind of because not all students get it. 
17- How did your parents react once finding out about the award? They were excited for all my hard work. 
18- How did your friends react once finding out about the award?They were excited.
19- Is student of the month used to motivate students?And why? Yes. To show it's possible to keep up with your grades. 
20- Did you find motivation to work hard once hearing about the possible award?And why? Yes because it shows you can do anything you believe.

1. Avoid mergers 2. The subject of my photo is the two boys in the back writing and the boy scratching his head. the merger is the blonde boy in the bottom of the photo. 3.I think it is fairly clear that the 3 boys are the main subject with the blond boy as the merger. 4. Academic shoot reflection and critique

1. Some of the challenges I faced while trying to follow the rules during the shoot was, that it was hard to find all of the rules. I thought it would be easy but it was actually kind of hard to find some of them. Not only that but as a photographer, i personally like more of a clear background but you can't do that with academic shoots since their are people everywhere! Lastly, their was not the best lighting since it was in a classroom. 2. I thought the most about the rules since that was what we were out there to do. I also focused on flipping the camera horizontal for some photos that I needed a closer and more full- body picture for. 3. If I could do the shoot again, I would try to get closer to some of the "subjects" to make sure it focuses only on the things I wanted in the photo. 4.                                                                 The Camera                 1. The "camera obscura" effect is an optical effect which inside a completely dark room, a small hole is made. Through the hole, light is focused and the optical effect is projected upside down on the opposite wall. 2. When Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens perfected the understanding go optics which helped getting to the modern camera. 3. In 1827, Joseph Niépce added film which pretty much created the modern camera. 4. Modern Cameras still use film and has the same basics except Niépce camera took over 8 hours to expose. 5. digital cameras use electronic sensors called a CCD. to capture a photo.
