Shutter Speed

Photo taken with a lower shutter speed
Photo taken with a high shutter speed
1. If I was assigned to shoot at Bulldogs and hotdogs when the sun was still up and there was still good lighting...

a. at a booth in the middle of the yard I would use low shutter speed to show the direction of movement.
b. while shooting at a food booth I would use low shutter speed since the action of eating food is not very fast and you can still show the direction of movement.
c. Now if I was shooting the Silver Stars performance, I would use high shutter speed to capture the fast actions of the dancers.
d. I would once again use high shutter speed to capture a picture of students dancing in the courtyard so you can capture their precise movements in clarity.
e. I would use low shutter speed to capture people streaming in the front doors to show the massive direction of the people going into the school.
f. I would use high shutter speed to capture students playing basketball so you can get clear photos of the athletes actions.

If I was shooting at Bulldogs and Hotdogs when there was no sun and was dark enough you can't see the other side of the courtyard....

a. I would use low shutter speed to shoot the booth in the middle of the yard to show the direction of people but I would use a flash.
b.If I was taking a photo of the photo booth I would use slow shutter speed with flash since when it is getting dark its better to use slow shutter speed with a flash.
c. I would still use a high shutter speed to take a picture of the Silver Stars performance since it is indoors and still has good lighting.
d. I would use a slow shutter speed with a flash to capture students dancing since you could then show their direction of movement and still get a clear photo.
e. I would still use a slow shutter speed to show people coming into the school.
f. I would use slow shutter speed (with flash) so that you could still clearly get a photo of the basketball players, but since its dark be able to still get a clear photo.

2. The three settings the cameras have regarding shutter speed are...
a. Aperture mode which sets the lens aperture while the camera automatically sets the shutter speed.
b.Shutter Priority mode is when you set the shutter mode and it automatically sets the aperture (manually)
c.Manual mode is where you set both the aperture and shutter speed manually
