Final Exam planning

1. When will you shoot this assignment?   I will be shooting this assignment over the  weekend. 2. Where will you shoot? In Dallas for the weekend (dance competition). 3. What will you be documenting or telling your "story" about? My weekend in Dallas with my friends and behind the scenes of competitions.  4. What equipment needs will you have to get this finished? The cannon camera, possibly my phone, computer with  iMovie.  5. Make sure to describe the process, by this I mean, where will you use the video portion, where will you use still images, where will your narration be, etc? I plan to make the video almost like a  blog (which will include my narratives) with lots of photos merged between videos. Also, I will use background music and I hope to edit it to look very cool.

Topic: Standardized Tests                                                 Standardized Tests- Helping or Harming?                Tests harm the health of students and hinder them from their full potential.         Tests. In the AISD school area, students typically take around 3-4 tests a week, while having extra curriculums,  personal lives, and sleep. This is extremely hard and tends to leave me a stressed wreck by the end of the week.          I take all Pre-AP classes which leaves me with more homework than I ever thought was possible.  This instantly creates late night cramming sessions of studying and a ton of stress. The tests seem to not take in account that students have a lot of classes and just not the one the test is in!         ...

1. What was one idea that the writer gave in the Wide Range of Topics section that you can use as you start deciding on a topic?  Controversial topics, topics that excite you/ you feel strongly about,etc.  2. What was one idea the writer gave in the Opinions Pieces section that you should remember as you are writing your piece?  While writing the essay you must be specific (no generalizations), have a wide perspective, have real emotions in your writing to have the reader sympathies with you, and use the "showing rather than telling " rule. 3. List three suggestions the writer makes in the Personal Essays and Crafts section that you will use as you write. 1. Make connections. 2.Grab the readers attention with a hook. 3. Be very specific and give many details (think of it as a camera lens).

Student of the Month (STORY)

                                                       Student of the Month      Catherine Crane, freshman at James Bowie High- School, won the first ever Student of the Month award. On Monday, April 3rd of 2017 was told she had won the award.      Catherine was ecstatic as she had worked very hard in and out of school. Catherine held perfect attendance while maintaining a high GPA. She showed excellent behavior and academic performance, leading to her well- deserved award.      "I typically get good grades" said Catherine.       Student of the Month is a large achievement and is extremely hard to get. Nut Graf

Nut Graf definition:       A Nut Graf a paragraph or main point of the story that holds all of the most important news of the article. The Nut Graf is used to summarize the story. This paragraph is very important due to the fact that it tells the reader why the story/ article really matters. Not only this, but it tells the reader why they should continue reading the article. This part of the article provides a smooth transition into the rest of the story.      Nut Graf's are typically written in a new format in which the most important news is told in the first few sentences. With in the Nut Graf, the end of the story should not be given away as it's purpose is to get the reader to read until the end of the story. The paragraph should answer any possible questions the reader may have about the article. Portfolio analysis- How judges pick winning portfolios in sports photos

Part 1  Video:1 a) Photographer: Alyssa Schukar b) General focus: stories c) 3 problems: - Very dark - Same camera angles - Far from subjects d) The judges liked: - The backgrounds -The photos told a story e) I personally like dark ideas, so I found this photographer intriguing, and I really liked some of her photos.
