1. The 58 year old man was killed by an oncoming subway as he was not strong enough to pull himself off the tracks. The photographer took the photo as he was trying to signal the subway with the flash of his camera. 2. The photographer said he took the photo to try to use the flash to stop the subway. 3. I don't think the photographer (Umar Abbasi)should have taken the photo, I think he should have tried to help the man more or done more to stop the subway. 4. I think since he was unable to do much more he did the best with what he was able to do which was attempt to signal the subway. 5. I don't think he should have run the image as a headline because it caused a lot of controversy and the photo shouldn't have even been taken in the first place. 6. The geese look forward as they see their brand new pond. The geese farm had been in a drought for almost a year with no pond until yesterdays large rain in which the pond filled up. 3.  1. Case Study House no.22, Los Angeles a) I chose this image because it looks as if the building is hanging off the side of a mountain or hill, and it has some cool dynamics and lines. b) Julius Shulman took the photo in 1960 which became one of his best works. 1. Many were from abandoned buildings especially from Germany. I learned that there is beauty in every day things such as staircases if shot at the right angle. In order for this to happen, the photographer must find the pattern, and position their camera in order to capture the pattern.  a) I chose this photo because I love the lines and the pattern that directs you down the photo. Blog #4- Magazines Part 2 Main attributions: 1. Early Magazine covers were mainly illustrated since it was the only way to create magazine covers.  Most magazines covers stayed this way until 1925. These made the magazines very unique since no other magazine had the same image. Type based covers were also around even though they are rare and usually present shocking news. 2.  The Poster Cover showcases a main image and usually is what grabs the readers attention. This is the most common approach that most magazine publishers use. Magazines with people such as celebrities on the front cover tend to sell more. Blog #1- Magazine tips  5 things to think about when designing a magazine cover are: 1. Interesting colors so it stands out 2. Add necessary text but do not distract from the main photo 3. Have a great picture so people can't help but look 4. Make it interesting 5. Be aware of who will be reading your magazine and where it will be sold. (think about climate)

    My plan for this portrait assignment is to get photos of people in their environment. I will try to get every-day images but hopefully make them a little more creative. I will shoot my friends, family, and some strangers, (only with permission from them of course). I will shoot at my dance studio, maybe downtown, and around the school and my house. I will try to follow some of the tips that the article gave to hopefully get some successful images. For my self portrait I will probably take some dance photos in my studio, and I will try to take photos of myself in places I love or with interesting angles. I will try to make these photos show a little insight into my life by showing all the things that define me.

I like this photo because it is a very up- close image of this woman which gives the viewer more of a connection with the subject. I chose this photo because it is a good example of getting close up to the subject of the photo. I like this photo because it shows how happy this family is. This is a candid shot showing  how close the family is creating a very happy photo that is quite sweet and not like the usual "darker" photos.

I like this photo because the photographer uses color to blend into his background providing an interesting image. I chose this photo because he used an interesting technique in which he used colors to blend in with his background. I like this photo because the man uses different colors to show a theme. I chose this photo because it is different and is interesting. I like the photos with more "out of the box" ideas like this.

I like this photo because it has a lot of weird angles. You can also tell the woman loves what she is doing and this is all  around a good portrait of the woman doing what she loves which is being with her horse. I like this photo because it shows a strong example of rule of thirds and the field in which the old man is standing in is beautiful and all the colors work really nicely together.

Best tips:  1. Hold Your Camera on an Angle Horizontal and Vertical framings are not the only options when it comes to shooting portraits. While  getting your images straight  can be important in when shooting in these formats holding your camera on a more diagonal angle can also inject a little fun into your images. This type of framing can add a sense of fun and energy into your shots. Just don’t ‘slightly’ do it or you’ll have people asking themselves if you might have mistakenly held your camera crooked. 2. Get Closer The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. As John Samuels eyed his brand new couch his family noticed his over excited expression in which his eyes popped out. John now holds the world record for farthest popped out eyes. Peggy Sue sits on the out of control section of her mall as punishment for trying to steal socks from Victorias Secret. No charges were pressed against Peggy she went on with her day and stole a hand bag from Macy's the next day. Henry Johnson rides motorcycle naked in defiance of not receiving his lollipop from his nursing home.  He was later found   at a local candy shop and was safely brought back to his nursing home where he received his lollipop.
