Warm up

1. The emotions I felt while looking at these images were sadness, helpless, anxiety, etc. The photos convey all of these emotions as she battles cancer, and eventually loses to it. 2. I believe that the comment, "These photographs do not define us, but are us." is saying that this really was their lives and not just some made up reality that some photographers use to create beautiful photos. These photos show real people. 3. I believe I could shoot these photos if I was in this situation but it would be hard to look at all the pictures and see the tragic road through cancer. 4. If I could write a letter to Angelo I would tell him to stay strong, and that although tragic he really did create a beautiful montage of her life. It is important for people to see things like this so that they can see that real people go through things like this, and to enjoy the life you have because someone is always going through something worse.

Abandoned Theme Parks

Image
1. I would like to visit Okpo Land in South Korea. This amusement park intrigues me for the number of "accidents" that happened and that the kart that killed the little girl is exactly in the same position that  claimed her life. The park seems as if a perfect horror movie location and would make for stunning photos that would send shivers down most spines. There is so much you could do with the park and because of its interesting story, it makes it a perfect art peace for those of us willing to enter. 2.   3. Five other unusual places that I would like to visit would be: - the hidden Beach-Mexico - Zhangye danxie Landforms: Gansu, China - Salar de Uyuni: Bolivia - Mendenhall Ice Caves: Juneau, Alaska - The door to hell- Turkmenistan 4.  5. I think that the Mendenhall Ice Caves, located in Juneau, Alaska would be an amazing place to take photos. This is because it almost appears as if you are underwater, but in reality you are surrounded by ice. The photos t...

1. The photos that Nick Brandt took were astonishing. He was able to capture images that were unique and showed the most beautiful side of the animals. It is sad however that poaching has become such a large issue and that more animals are being killed everyday. 3. This is one of my favorite photos from Brant because it shows the issues of man hunting elephant so perfectly and it shows the devastation it can cause. The clear background really helps showcase this. 4. The rules of photography that are being used in this photo are simplicity, and mergers. the photo shows simplicity because it really shows the deep meaning of the sadness brought to elephants being killed and only shows the man and the tusks with a clear background. The photo shows mergers because it is showing that man is one with the elephant and the tusks are merged with the man. 5. Nick Brandt did not use a telephoto lens which is what most photographers use to get an up-close image but Brant feels that it isn...

mural Project

1. A theme we could take at school could be bulldog pride. One theme we could do for outside of school could be keep Austin Weird and take pictures of the people and most characteristic parts of Austin. 2. I think we should use cameras because we could get more practice with shooting in other environments. Also, cameras take better photos than phones and we could use our new knowledge of photoshop to edit our photos. 3. I would want to put the mural on one of the "famous Bowie walls" near the front of the school so that people could see it and hopefully want to take pictures in front of it.

Great Black and White Photographers part 3

Image
1. When looking at my photographer, William Klein, I liked how he took abnormal photos and made the people look very interesting. I chose his photos because all his photos, although black and white, have so much life in them. a) I see my reflection in the newsstand with the baby. I can see my warm clothes and pinned up hair. b) I smell the rust of the news stand. I smell the gas of the cars as they come down the street. c) I can hear the cars roaring down the street.I can hear the faint clicking of woman's heels as they walk down the pavement. d) I am able to taste the cold air. The faint taste of gasoline fills my nose. e) I feel my makeup running as I lean in to check it in the newsstand. I can feel the cold touch of winter on my skin. a) I can see my cigarette with flowers wrapped around it. I see the bright lights of the camera staring at me. b) I smell the smoke from my cigarette. The smell of flowers fills my nose with its sweet scent. c) I hear Klein as he tells me t...
